St. Baldrick's fundraiser March 19 at Top of the Hill

Go ahead – throw vanity out the window. We dare you to experience the brilliance of being bald while raising funds for life-saving research. To get involved, register online to have your head shaved on March 19 at Top of the Hill and ask your family and friends to make donations on your soon-to-be bald head.

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. The purpose behind the head shaving is to show solidarity to children with cancer that have lost their hair in the course of their treatment. UNC Health Care and our patients have been the beneficiary of several grants through the foundation over the years.

This year’s event will be at Top of the Hill on March 19, starting at noon. The event is always a lot of fun and this year there will be a silent auction featuring signed sport memorabilia and other exciting items. Register online for the event here. For those interested in forming teams, a special recognition award will be presented for the team that raises the most money for these brave young patients. Several UNC Health Care employees have participated in past events but we have not had any teams participate locally.

If you have questions about St. Baldrick’s or the event please contact Dalton Sawyer at dsawyer@unch.unc.edu .
