Monthly Interdisciplinary Parkinson's Disease Clinic

As part of the UNC Movement Disorders Center, this newly organized clinic has partnered with allied health therapists, specializing in Parkinson’s, to offer comprehensive interdisciplinary team assessments for people diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

The Interdisciplinary Parkinson's Disease Clinic runs monthly and is considered to be an additional service in the comprehensive clinical care we offer to individuals with Parkinson's disease. The UNC Movement Disorders Center is one of 43 designated National Parkinson's Foundation Centers of Excellence in the country.

The team is comprised of Dr. Nina Browner, neurologist; Diane Meyer, physical therapist; Tim Holmes, occupational therapist; Brenda Warren and Kelly O’Brien, speech therapists; and Lindsay Penny, Clinical Social Worker. The entire team underwent intensive training in management of Parkinson’s patient on different stages of the disease. The clinic has been held monthly since January 2011.
