Introduction to study design and strategies for data analysis
This course is intended as an introduction to statistical terms, methodologies and analysis strategies most commonly used in clinical and translational research.

The TraCS Institute announces a one-week course titled, "Introduction to Study Design and Strategies for Data Analysis." The course will be held July 18 - 22, from 8 a.m. - noon each day in room G202 of the Medical Biomolecular Research Building (MBRB).
Based on participant interest there will be optional breakout sessions organized that focus more specifically on areas such as clinical trials, existing data sets or other topics relevant to the participants' own areas of research. These breakout sessions will be held the afternoons of Tuesday, July 19 and Thursday, July 21 from 1-3 p.m.
Course content:
- Basic study designs used in clinical/translational research
- Overview of Statistical methodology- definitions and examples
- Introduction to analysis strategies - which statistical methods are appropriate for various types of data
Once registered, participants will receive additional information on recommended, but optional, course textbooks.
