GPSF, School of Medicine participate in Great Human Race to benefit Habitat for Humanity

The UNC School of Medicine is partnering with the Graduate and Professional Student Federation (GPSF) to participate in the Volunteer Center of Durham's Great Human Race on Saturday, March 26. The goal is to raise money for the UNC Habitat for Humanity Project that aims to build homes for UNC employees.

The race will take place at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Great Human Race is a nationwide community fund raising event for nonprofit organizations. The race features a 5k competitive run and a community walk through downtown Durham.

The Habitat site that UNC is sponsoring needs to raise $35,000 to build affordable, green housing for deserving UNC employees! We would like to invite UNC students and employees to sign up and run or walk in the event, or simply make a donation in support of the cause!

To make a charitable donation for Habitat for Humanity, go to www.active.com/donate/ghr2011/gpsf to contribute. If you’re interested in running or walking contact GPSF Public Service Chair Jennifer Harber (jharber@email.unc.edu) by March 24 for more information!
