Dr. Kim’s primary job is seeing allergy and immunology patients at the Carolina Pointe II clinic at 6013 Farrington Road, Suite 301, in Chapel Hill. Appointments with Dr. Kim can be made by calling 919-962-4824 (ITCH). On his non-clinic days, Dr. Kim will also be involved in allergy & immunology fellow didactics and fellow clinic precepting.

He gained significant research experience in food allergy while training at Duke under Dr. Wesley Burks, who will become UNC’s new chair of Pediatrics on Dec. 1. In the future Dr. Kim hopes to begin doing clinic-based research on adult food allergy and anaphylaxis as well as on immunotherapy (allergy shots).

Dr. Kim completed a residency in pediatrics at Duke and then did a fellowship in allergy & immunology at Duke, which cross-trains us in adult and pediatric allergy & immunology. Currently Dr. Kim sees adult patients only.

He earned his MD at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Kim also earned an MS in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health and a BS in Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
