Putting the Person into Personalized Medicine- The TraCS Personalized Medicine Consultation Service

The vision of Personalized Medicine is to optimize treatments for individual patients by integrating traditional clinical, pathological, and demographic information with newer tools, such as genomics. Services provided include study design (including both genetic/genomic components and clinical trial strategies), assay development and genotyping, data analysis and manuscript preparation, and development of grant applications to fund pharmacogenomic studies. The purpose of this workshop is to introduce investigators with an interest in Personalized Medicine, including pharmacogenomics, to the services available to them through the TRACS Personalized Medicine Consultation Service. A brief overview of the Consultation Service will be followed by several case studies demonstrating how the PMCS enabled investigators to incorporate pharmacogenetics-based Personalized Medicine into their studies.
