Department of Psychiatry 2010-2011 Internship awards

Interns and faculty members were recognized with the Department's Wallach and Judy T. Konanc Awards.

The faculty of the Clinical Psychology Internship Program are pleased to announce this year’s recipients of the Wallach Award:

Mary Beth Grimley, Clinical Child-Pediatrics intern
Cristin Runfola, Eating Disorders intern

The Wallach Award intern displays significant progress toward excellence as a scientist-practitioner.  This includes an appreciation of the empirical basis of psychological work in the intern’s chosen area of clinical practice, demonstrated strengths in written and oral expression, and high ethical standards.  Additionally, the awardee demonstrates the thoughtful style, conscientiousness, genuine care and respect for clients and colleagues, and advocacy of the needs of underserved populations which characterized Dr. Martin Wallach.

We are also pleased to announce the faculty recipients of the Judy T. Konanc Award, selected by the interns:

Echo Meyer, Ph.D., supervisor in the Pediatric Psychology program
Paul Morea, LCSW, supervisor in the Psychiatric Crisis Service

The Judy T. Konanc Excellence in Teaching Award is presented annually by the psychology interns to a faculty member who demonstrates recognition of the unique professional development needs of each intern, exemplary teaching that leads to growth in skills and knowledge in the practice of clinical psychology, a model of respect for clients, and the highest regard for ethical standards.

Congratulations to Mary Beth, Cristin, Echo and Paul!
