BRIC Pilot Grants for MR-PET Research Projects

The Biomedical Research Imaging Center (BRIC) is awarding one year pilot grants of up to $30,000.

Submission Deadline: Feb. 22, 2013

Purpose:

This program is designed to encourage and facilitate the development of novel clinical and translational research focusing on exploring potential clinical utility of a novel hybrid PET/MR scanner in the BRIC. This hybrid PET/MR scanner is capable of acquiring both MR and PET images simultaneously.

The following types of translational research projects are encouraged

  • Development and/or evaluation if simultaneous acquisition of PET and MR images leads to changes of practice and/or patient care.
  • Development of new MR-PET technologies, including but not limited to, acquisition methods, reconstruction methods, hardware improvement and image analysis leading to improvement of MR and PET image quality.
