34th Annual Legislative Breakfast on Mental Health

The presentation is titled, "The 3 R's of NC Mental Health Care: Rights, Recovery and Reform." Vicki Smith, Executive Director for Disability Rights NC, is the Keynote Speaker and Ms. Charlene Lee will speak from the perspective of individuals living with a mental health condition.

Vicki Smith, Executive Director for Disability Rights NC will serve as our Keynote Speaker and discuss the role of her organization in helping to ensure the rights of individuals living with mental health disabilities, as well as some of the challenges and hope for the future.

Ms. Charlene Lee will speak from the perspective of individuals living with a mental health condition, sharing her personal journey and giving a face to recovery in mental health. Legislators from Orange, Durham, Chatham and Person Counties, as well as local elected officials and leadership from the newly formed Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCO) have been invited to attend, exchange ideas and answer questions about mental health issues with members of the audience.

Dr. Tonya Armstrong will serve as Moderator. A full breakfast buffet is offered free of charge, however, a $15 per person donation is suggested to help organizers offset expenses. Table Sponsorships are available for $300. All donations are gratefully accepted.
