Marla V. Broadfoot, who received her Ph.D. in genetics and molecular biology from UNC in 2003, and is a contributing writer at the NC TraCS Institute at UNC, recently published a compilation of articles about women in science commissioned by the Burroughs Wellcome Fund.

Doug Dirschl, MD, is Chair and Frank C. Wilson Distinguished Professor of Orthopaedics. He was chosen by WCHL as Chapel Hill-Carborro's Hometown Hero for his work in providing quality care and free participation physicals for local high school athletes.
