Updates to the Faculty Affairs Code
The Faculty Affairs Code, Appendix A, governs the operations of UNC Physicians & Associates and clinical activities of the School of Medicine faculty. Please read the following note about updates to the Code that reflect the P&A name change to UNC Faculty Physicians and the updated governance structure.
UNC Physicians & Associates to be renamed UNC Faculty Physicians
The name change will become official on Jan. 1, 2013. A new logo was also developed. Read on for a letter from Dr. Allen Daugird, President of UNC Faculty Physicians.
Two School of Medicine Employees recognized by University for contributions
Rebecca Owen, administrative manager for the Cystic Fibrosis/Pulmonary Research and Treatment Center, won a Chancellor's Award for government service. Christene Tashjian, project coordinator in Allied Health Sciences, won an Excellence in Management Award. The two were among seven UNC employees honored by the university this year.
New Wireless Security Certificates Being Installed
On Monday morning, Dec. 17, ITS updated the security certificates on the login servers that control the UNC-Secure wireless network. When you connect to the wireless network, you may or may not receive a window that asks if it’s OK to accept the certificate. You should answer yes to that question.
Family Medicine's Workplace Wellness Program reduces costs while making employees happier and healthier
The Town of Chapel Hill was recently named one of the Triangle’s Healthiest Employers by the Triangle Business Journal because of its innovative employee wellness program designed and delivered by UNC Family Medicine called Wellness@Work.
2013 Zollicoffer Lecture & Banquet
Please save the date for the 33rd Annual Zollicoffer Lecture & Banquet to be held on Friday, Feb. 15. This year's lecturer is Dr. Brenda Armstrong, Associate Dean, Medical Education and Director of Admissions for Duke University School of Medicine and Professor of Pediatrics and Cardiology at Duke University Medical Center.
