UNC to hold the first Pediatric Schwartz Rounds in North Carolina
Schwartz Rounds are a multidisciplinary forum where caregivers can focus on the social, emotional, and personal aspects of patient care in a safe and confidential environment.

They are held at more than 275 hospitals nationwide, with support from the Schwartz Center. This center was created by Ken Schwartz, a healthcare attorney who died of lung cancer at 40. He believed that what mattered most to him, as a patient, was the compassionate care he received from caregivers - which he said, "made the unbearable bearable." Panelists will include Hadley Kifner, MDiv, BCC, Jenni Davis, LRT/CTRS, CCLS, and Brian Robinson, EVS. The rounds will be faciliated by Mary Beth Grimley, PhD, & physician leaders, Benny Joyner, MD, MPH and Afsaneh Pirzadeh, MD.
