Children’s Supportive Care Consult Service now available

The Pediatric Palliative Care Committee would like to announce the availability of the Children’s Supportive Care Consult Service. This interdisciplinary team is headed up by its Medical Director, Elisabeth Dellon, MD, MPH.

This dedicated pediatric palliative care team  emphasizes symptom management, psychosocial support, decision-making and goal-setting for inpatients and their families.

The consult service will utilize a patient- and family-centered approach to care for those who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening event and those with severe medical conditions at every stage of illness including care at the end of life and during bereavement. We hope that the staff of the Children’s Hospital will take advantage of this new opportunity while providing for the care and comfort of their patients and their families.

Palliative care consults may be requested by contacting the Clinical Coordinator, Diane Yorke, PhD, PNP, at pager number 216-6793.
