James F. Donohue receives award at international meeting

James F. Donohue, MD, Professor of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, received a Presidential Commendation for his leadership as Chairman of the American Thoracic Society's (ATS) Foundation at the annual international meeting of the ATS in San Francisco on May 22.

Dr. Donohue was honored at the American Thoracic Society's International meeting of more than 15,000 specialists. The Commendation states, "The Presidential Commendation is hereby awarded to Jim Donohue for his outstanding contribution and commitment to the ATS and his leadership of the ATS Foundation, helping to raise ATS Research Fund - raising to record levels."

Dr. Donohue joined the faculty at UNC in 1976 and has recently stepped down as Division Chief in 2011. His research interests are in Global Clinical trials of bronchodilators and inhaled therapeutics for COPD and Asthma.
