It has been almost three years since Healthy Foundations for Healthy Youth: A Report of the North Carolina Institute of Medicine (NCIOM) Task Force on Adolescent Health was published with recommendations on how to improve the health and well-being of adolescents in our state. This summit will provide us the opportunity to share the current health status of adolescents and the implementation status of recommendations. There will also be an opportunity to think collectively and individually about what can be done to further promote the health and well-being of adolescents.

NCMP, which is funded by the Duke Endowment, increases awareness of the unmet health needs of North Carolinians between 10 and 20 years of age, and produces and encourages implementation of evidence-based recommendations to improve services, programs, and policies addressing high-priority health needs of the 10 - 20 age group during the second decade of the 21st century.
