There are nearly 300 Nurse Practitioners at UNC Health Care and more than 4,000 NPs in the North Carolina. Nurse Practitioners provide health care to people of all ages and in diverse health care settings. The excellence, safety and cost-effectiveness of the care provided by NPs is well established and well documented.

Please join us in recognizing the care Nurse Practitioners offer North Carolina citizens at UNC Health Care and learn of upcoming national and state initiatives to support and promote Nurse Practitioner practice in our state.

NP week coincides with Veteran’s Day this year. Through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, NPs support Joining Forces- a White House initiative to raise awareness of the unique health issues affecting America’s military, veterans and their families. In appreciation of the strong military presence in North Carolina, we will discuss ways of expanding our core knowledge and understanding the issues to address the unique clinical challenges facing our nation’s military, veterans and their families.
