Call for Applications: Medical Director of Ambulatory Care; Associate Vice President of Ambulatory Care

Two positions, Medical Director and Vice President of Ambulatory Care, are now open to internal applicants.

Now that Don Spencer is serving as Chief Medical Informatics Officer for the UNC Health Care System, we have decided to split the duties of his recent position, Medical Director and Vice President of Ambulatory Care, into a new dyad of an administrative ambulatory leader and an ambulatory medical director. Both positions are open to internal applicants only and applicants must be able to start no later than December 1, 2012.


Medical Director of Ambulatory Care
The Medical Director of Ambulatory Care is the primary physician executive responsible for overall ambulatory patient services provided by both UNC Hospitals and UNC School of Medicine. Position requires oversight, coordination and integration of a multitude of primary care and subspecialty units providing services in the ambulatory setting in Chapel Hill and the surrounding community.  This is a 50% position funded by the UNC Health Care System. This position will report to Brian Goldstein, MD, MBA and Allen Daugird, MD, MBA.

Associate Vice President for Ambulatory Care
The Associate Vice President for Ambulatory Care will be the primary administrative executive responsible for overall ambulatory patient services provided by both UNC Hospitals and UNC School of Medicine.  This includes direct supervision and dotted-line oversight of large array of UNC Health Care System (HCS) staff and requires coordination and integration of a multitude of HCS units providing services in the ambulatory setting in Chapel Hill and the surrounding community.  This is a full-time position and will be funded by the Health Care System. This position will report to Brian Goldstein, MD, MBA and Allen Daugird, MD, MBA.
