All ITS Services down Oct. 18, 6:30 -7:30 a.m. and Oct. 19, 5:30 - 7 a.m.

ITS Networking will be doing major upgrades to core networking in both of its data centers (ITS-Manning and Franklin) on Oct. 18 from 6:30 -7:30 a.m. and on Oct. 19 from 5:30 - 7 a.m. This will require completely shutting down all network connections, physically replacing the chassis, re-installing the old modules, and re-connecting each of the switches.

All ITS Services, including:

  • Email
  • Campus web presence (e.g. www.unc.edu)
  • Many School of Medicine Web Sites (e.g. http://www.med.unc.edu)
  • ConnectCarolina
  • Password Change
  • Research Computing
  • Domain Services
  • ePro

will most likely be DOWN during these windows (and in some cases, starting before 5:30 a.m. and not back in production until after 7 a.m., depending upon the service).  During the outage, individuals may not be able to login through their local machines; may not be able to access email; or other systems managed by ITS staff.  Please be aware that some systems will be shutdown before the network outage begins.
