The Bone Marrow Drive is part of 15-year-old Dylan’s Eagle Scout project. On December 1, 2011, Dylan received a life-saving bone marrow transplant thanks to a stranger in Montana named Tyler, who signed up for the Bone Marrow Registry while waiting at a gym one day.
As Dylan explains, “There happened to be a drive going on, so Tyler said, ‘Why not?’ Well, I'm thankful for him saying ‘why not?’ because he saved my life.”
Tyler, who is meeting Dylan and his family for the first time this week, will be helping register potential donors with Dylan at Thursday’s drive.
All it takes is a simple cheek swab for the chance to save someone’s life! Students, faculty, staff and the general public are welcome and encouraged to come by the drive and join the registry.
