NC DNA Day 5k - May 18

Join us for this inaugural run to support science outreach and education in North Carolina! Funds raised from this event will support North Carolina DNA Day – an annual event where scientists from UNC and other leading NC research institutions visit over 100 high school classrooms statewide to inspire and educate the next generation of scientists, to support North Carolina science teachers, and to bridge the gap between North Carolina’s leading research enterprises and high school science classrooms.

Following the 5K, there will be a science festival from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Student Union with the theme: Bioscience in Motion: From the Lab to Your Life. Scientists will present hands-on demonstrations for the public to highlight health-related research going on in NC.
