State Health Plan Enrollment and 2014 Changes

The State Health Plan is making major changes to employee and dependent health insurance for 2014. Click the link to review the changes and see what you can do now to prepare. Read more online.

Additional One-Time Leave for State Employees (FY14 Leave)

The 2013 General Assembly awarded a one-time additional five days of special (vacation) leave effective July 1, 2013, to permanent full-time leave earning employees.  Since nine-month faculty do not earn leave, they are not eligible for this leave. The leave will be pro-rated for part-time employees. Read more online.

Online Technical Training

OHR/Training & Talent Development regularly receives questions about technical training opportunities for University employees. Therefore, we wanted to make all employees aware of two new online technical training opportunities now provided by Information Technology Services (ITS)Read more online.

Register for Helping Heels Caregiver List

The Office of Human Resources publishes Helping Heels, a registry of individuals affiliated with the University who are willing to provide a variety of caregiving tasks on a part-time informal basis. This could include any combination of the following: childcare, elder care and/or pet care. Read more online.

Message from NC Office of State Human Resources

Please see the attached letter for all state employees regarding recent legislative changes from the Office of State Human Resources (previously the Office of State Personnel). OSHR asked that this letter be provided to all state employees. The University Office of Human Resources is awaiting final rules and instructions from OSHR on several of the areas noted in this letter. Read more online.

ConnectCarolina Project Implementation

The ConnectCarolina project team and hundreds of University staff have contributed immensely toward the goal of implementing HR/Payroll and Finance systems with a scheduled go-live of January 2014. Read more for information about the delay in the implementation date. Read more online.
