UNC medical students helped UNC Libraries raise 3,686 books this year for children at the Pediatric Oncology Clinic for the Children's Hospital.
The award, which includes $5,000 in direct research support, recognizes years of service to the CALGB cooperative group by Dr. Muss, who has been a member for more than 30 years.
Events in the new year include Biostatistics Grand Rounds, Clinical Trial Investigator Series, New PI Training Series, and "Implementing Obamacare: The Promise and Pitfalls of Health Reform" with Dr. Jonathan Oberlander. Also, a new funding opportunity from AHRQ.
Run as a challenger, running 2.5 miles from the N.C. State Memorial Belltower to the Krispy Kreme store in Raleigh, eating a dozen glazed doughnuts, and then running the return 2.5 miles, or as a casual runner (doughnuts optional). All proceeds go to the North Carolina Children's Hospital.
