UNC and UNC Hospital faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the 10th Annual Krispy Kreme Challenge race on Saturday, Feb. 8 at North Carolina State University. North Carolina Children's Hospital is the sole beneficiary. Last year the race raised $184,000. The race consists of running 2.5 miles from the N.C. State Memorial Belltower to the Krispy Kreme store in Raleigh, eating up to 12 glazed doughnuts and then running the return 2.5 miles.

There were 8,000 participants in last year's race from all over North Carolina and 39 other states and the District of Columbia as well as individuals from Canada, Australia and France.

Please consider forming a team. A team has already been formed for N.C. Children's Hospital faculty and staff. The team name is "Tar Healers." This race is very popular and registration closes early every year so please register as soon as possible. If you don't wish to eat any or all of the donuts, just register as a "casual runner" vs. a "challenger."

Here is how to join: Go to the registration page: http://www.krispykremechallenge.com/register and begin the registration process as an "individual." As you continue the process, you will be asked if you would like to form a team or join an established team from the drop down menu. If you have questions, please contact, Regina Hill () with N.C. Children's Promise or call 919-843-4155.
