Important transitions at the Medical Foundation of North Carolina, Inc.

David Anderson has decided to step down as President of the Medical Foundation on June 30. Debbie Dibbert, Director of Development and External Relations for Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, will assume the position of Interim President during this transition. The Medical Foundation secures financial and volunteer resources for the UNC School of Medicine and UNC Health Care to provide a healthier future through medical education, research and patient care.

The memo below was sent to the Board of the Medical Foundation of North Carolina, Inc.

We wanted to let you know about a number of important transitions in the Medical Foundation.

David Anderson has decided to step down as President of the Medical Foundation on June 30. After eight years at the foundation, David has decided to open a new chapter in his career. We are fortunate to have had his steadfast commitment and tireless leadership during a period of enormous growth and change at the Foundation and we thank him for his efforts.

The Executive Committee of the Medical Foundation together with Dean Bill Roper have asked Debbie Dibbert, Director of Development and External Relations for Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, to assume the position of Interim President during this transition. They will initiate the search for a permanent replacement immediately, although realistically the search will likely take four to six months.

With the leadership of Dean Roper, a dedicated Board and an exceptional staff, the Medical Foundation is poised for great success. We will continue to actively raise funds to support our medical education, research and patient care programs.  We are extremely excited about the opportunities for medicine in the upcoming university-wide campaign and will do everything we can to continue the important campaign planning that is underway.
