J. Victor Garcia-Martinez, PhD, Professor of Medicine, Immunology and Microbiology, will present "The Genesis of Human GALT: In the Beginning God Created Cryptopatches" at the CGIBD Research Seminar on March 28.

Dr. Garcia and the members of his group have an outstanding record in the development and use of humanized mice. Since their landmark publication describing the humanized BLT mouse model, it has been widely used to address key questions regarding a variety of aspects of HIV infection, transmission, and prevention. Recently, their work has focused on the characterization of the human GALT that develops in humanized mice.

Seminar starts at 4:30 pm and is held in the first floor auditorium of the Bioinformatics Building. Everyone is welcome to attend.
