Successful Joint Endeavor: 5th Annual BRIC-Radiology Research Day

On Thursday, March 21, the 5th Annual BRIC-Radiology Research Day was jointly hosted by UNC's Department of Radiology and Biomedical Research Imaging Center (BRIC).

Representing multiple UNC departments and campus research entities – Radiology, Biomedical Engineering, BRIC, Radiation Oncology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Biostatistics, Pulmonology, Neurobiology, Computer Science and Renaissance Computing Institute (RENCI) -- students and trainees gave both poster and oral presentations during the first part of Research Day in the NC Cancer Hospital.

To conclude Research Day, keynote speaker Dr. Zahi A. Fayad presented, “Bleeding Edge Imaging and Therapy in Cardiovascular Disease” in Bondurant Hall. Dr. Fayad is the Director of the Translational and Molecular Imaging Institute, Professor of Radiology and Cardiology, Director and Founder of the Eva and Morris Feld Imaging Science Laboratories, and Director of Cardiovascular Imaging Research at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York.
