UNC-1 Wireless Access to be removed from several SOM buildings October 7
The UNC-1 Wireless SSID will be removed from the following School of Medicine buildings on Monday, Oct. 7: MBRB, AHEC, AHEC/MedAir, Bondurant, Taylor, and EPA. To avoid losing wireless connectivity, users should install the UNC-Secure configuration as soon as possible.
On October 18, 2013, ITS plans to permanently remove the wireless access channel known as UNC-1 from the entire campus network. It is being replaced by a more robust and more secure access channel labeled as UNC-Secure.
In preparation for this change, ITS will be removing UNC-1 from School of Medicine buildings in phases leading up to October 18. For an up to date schedule and support options, please refer to http://help.med.unc.edu/wireless-transition.
To avoid losing wireless connectivity, users should install the UNC-Secure configuration as soon as possible. For most devices, that can be accomplished by going to the following link: http://uncsecure.net.unc.edu and following the directions.
