DNA Day is an annual event where scientists from UNC and other leading N.C. research institutions visit over 100 high school classrooms statewide to inspire and educate the next generation of scientists, to support North Carolina science teachers, and to bridge the gap between North Carolina’s leading research enterprises and high school science classrooms.

Following the 5K, there will be a science festival from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Student Union with the theme:  Running Experiments: Investigating the Science of Life. Exhibitors from UNC and beyond will have hands-on demonstrations and activities that kids and adults will both enjoy.
