Changes to “Guidelines for Appointment, Reappointment and Promotion of Faculty”

On Jan. 14, the Dean’s Advisory Committee approved two changes to the “Guidelines for Appointment, Reappointment and Promotion of Faculty” in the School of Medicine.

The changes were made on pages 13 (Tenure Track) and 23 (Fixed Term) regarding “A letter of recommendation from the Department Chair to the Dean.” Specifically, language was added at the end of this paragraph (on each page indicated), as follows: “Chair’s letters must contain an explanation of “no” votes or abstentions by voting full professors.
