UNC Researchers Selected for Highly Competitive Grant in Geriatric Medicine

The Center for Aging and Health/ Division of Geriatric Medicine has received funding from The John A. Hartford Foundation Centers of Excellence in Geriatric Medicine for a collaborative project led by Drs. Timothy Platts-Mills and Sheryl Zimmerman.

Dr. Timothy Platts-Mills, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Anesthesiology, and Dr. Sheryl Zimmerman, Kenan Distinguished Professor in the Schools of Social Work and Public Health and Co-Director of the Program on Aging, Disability and Long-Term Care of the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research, were chosen to lead 1 of 5 projects selected for this highly competitive national grant. Their project will develop and test a brief patient-oriented educational video to improve outcomes for older adults with musculoskeletal pain.
