The Expertscape ranking of top diabetes doctors and institutions was announced at the American Diabetes Association’s 74th Scientific Sessions this week in San Francisco.

Buse, a professor of medicine in the UNC School of Medicine, is deputy director of the North Carolina Translational and Clinical Sciences (NC TraCS) Institute, the academic home of the NIH Clinical and Translational Sciences Awards (CTSA) program at UNC.

A former president of the American Diabetes Association, Buse currently chairs the National Diabetes Education Program, an effort focused on getting the latest knowledge about diabetes care and treatment to patients and their health care providers. He was among five researchers and five research institutions recognized by Expertscape at the ADA meeting.
