New process for U.S. News & World Report’s Reputation Survey

Physicians are now invited to participate in U.S. News and World Report's Best Hospital rankings selection process. To do so, please register with Doximity by Dec. 5.

Each year U.S. News & World Report (USN&WR) releases a "Best Hospitals" report, ranking hospitals 1-50 nationwide across 16 different specialty areas.

One of the primary components of the scoring system is a hospitals' reputation as voted on by physicians who are randomly selected to participate in a survey.  However, because the sample size of physician participants in the survey was quite small, starting last year, the reputation score is now conducted by a web survey of board-certified physicians through Doximity, an online physician network and partner with USN&WR.

This new survey process presents an opportunity for a greater number of opinions to be heard.  Completing a brief registration (under five minutes) with Doximity is necessary to be eligible to vote and you need to so before December 5Once you have registered or “claimed” your profile, you will be invited to vote in the category for which you have relevant board certification.  The survey begins in January, so carefully check your email for an invitation by Doximity to participate in the survey.

The Doximity website can be accessed by clicking here:

Signing up for Doximity is of course optional, but represents a great opportunity to have your opinion considered in the selection process. Many other academic medical centers across the country are providing similar information to their physicians and encouraging them to sign up for Doximity.
