This year, Marco Alemán, MD, professor of Medicine, was nominated for the AAMC Gold Humanism Award by the Gold Humanism Honor Society at the UNC School of Medicine. We caught up with Alemán to discuss what humanism in medicine means to him and how it plays an important role in medical training.
The University of North Carolina's Finley Golf Course will host a fundraising tournament for the Jason Ray Foundation on Monday September 21 in Chapel Hill. The tournament will follow the dinner and live auction on the evening of Sunday September 20.

Dan Kaufer, MD, associate professor in the department of Neurology and director of the UNC Memory Disorders Program, is testing a new approach to screen cognitive decline. This new approach involves the use of a computerized version of a tool that is traditionally administered by a technician.
