Call for nominations: C. Knox Massey Distinguished Service Awards

Nominations are due Feb. 6 for the 2015 C. Knox Massey Distinguished Service Awards, given for "unusual, meritorious or superior contribution made by an employee, past or present."

Chancellor Carol Folt will recognize six recipients and the honor includes an award of $7,500.

You may make your nomination by filling out and submitting the online form. You will be required to enter your ONYEN and password to access this form.

You may also make your nomination via a letter to the address provided below. If you do choose to send a letter instead of using the online form, be sure to include the following information:

  • Name of the proposed recipient.
  • Whether a present or past University employee (if past, an indication of the dates when the nominee was employed).
  • A brief description of the service rendered and why it is thought to be a contribution sufficiently “unusual, meritorious or superior” to deserve an award.
  • Signature of the nominator or seconder.

2012: Dr. Mary Napier, research assistant professor of biochemistry and biophysics

2011:Ruben Gonzalez-Crespo, Spanish interpreter in UNC Lineberger and the N.C. Cancer Hospital

2010: Patricia Oliver, assistant dean for finance
