North Carolina Research Triangle Pulmonary Hypertension Symposium

The seventh annual Research Triangle Pulmonary Hypertension Symposium will be held Friday, Oct. 30 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, Brier Creek. The symposium will provide pulmonologists, cardiologists, and other interested physicians and allied healthcare providers the opportunity to learn about the current landscape in PH epidemiology, diagnostics, and treatment.

The symposium is presented by Duke University School of Medicine, UNC School of Medicine and the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity,participants should be able to:
  • Describe classifications of Pulmonary Hypertension, according to the Fifth World Symposium classifications
  • Recognizing and distinguishing similar disease processes that may or may not respond to PAH specific therapy
  • Identify appropriate treatment choices based on available evidence
  • Recognize when treatment responses are suboptimal and when referral to a specialty center is appropriate
  • Understanding long term management of PAH Patients
  • Identify and employ important non-pharmacologic interventions in the management of PH
