2017 AAAAI Foundation Faculty Development Award

The AAAAI Foundation, the charitable arm of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology, is accepting letters of intent to support the career advancement of a junior faculty member in the specialty of asthma, allergy, and immunology. The award will be over three years and is intended to support basic and/or clinical allergy and immunology research. Award amount up to $240,000 over three years. Deadline is Sept. 1.

The AAAAI Foundation, the charitable arm of the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology, is accepting Letters of Intent (LOIs) to support the career advancement of a junior faculty member in the specialty of asthma, allergy and immunology. The award will be over three years and is intended to support basic and/or clinical allergy and immunology research. Support for the second and third year is contingent upon receipt by the AAAI Foundation of a satisfactory annual report. The award money may be used for salary, services and supplies. The maximum salary support is $80,000 per year. Funds may not be used for institutional indirect costs. Eligible faculty members must have received their faculty appointments, either Instructor or Assistant Professor, as of July 1, 2013 and must be associated with an allergy/immunology fellowship program or have a primary appointment in an allergy/immunology division. The award is intended for MDs, PhDs and Dos. Applicants must be either US or Canadian citizens and must be either AAAAI members or submit a membership application with the award application. Applicants may be current recipients of NIH K08 awards, or faculty development foundation grants (ALA, Cystic Fibrosis, AHA, etc.) but may not be current recipients of NIH R01 awards or be PI of a project on an NIH program project. An institution may host only one active funded AAAI Foundation Faculty Development Award.

LOI Deadline: September 1. Invited full applications will be due November 15, 2016. Award announcements will be at the 2017 AAAAI Annual Meeting (~March 2017). Application Guidelines for the award.
