The workshop will

  • provide safe and effective solutions for drug-delivery issues faced by industrial scientists,
  • provide training on a comprehensive body of physicochemical characterization techniques to develop pharmaceutical-grade nanoparticle therapies,
  • provide training on thorough analytical characterization of in vivo nanoparticle disposition (biodistribution/pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, PK/PD) and
  • provide training on factors affecting nano delivery to tumors – animal models vs. patients.

The five-day workshop consists of a lecture and seminar block (two days) and hands-on practical training (three days) in the CNDD research laboratories at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill followed by a small-group discussions focused on data analysis, interpretation and alternatives. The workshop includes five lecture blocks with multiple lectures in each block. Online training modules  will be made available to the participants prior to the onsite workshop to facilitate active learning and discussion during the onsite sessions.
