Antibiotic Stewardship at UNC: Review of the First Six Months of The Antibiotic Stewardship Team

The next edition of the Friday Morning Conference will focus on the work of UNC's Antibiotic Stewardship Team. Jonathan Juliano, MD, assistant professor of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, medical director, Antibiotic Stewardship Team, will be the featured speaker.

The Antibiotic Stewardship Team was formed in February 2015. The mission of the Antimicrobial Support Team is to optimize clinical outcomes while minimizing unintended consequences of antimicrobial use, including toxicity, emergence of resistance, and unintended costs of inappropriate therapy.

 The Institute for Global Health & Infectious Diseases, Division of Infectious Diseases, and Center for AIDS Research at UNC co-sponsor a weekly conference series that features distinguished clinicians and scientists from UNC, local universities, and other national and international institutions. The topics are varied and appeal to not only infectious disease specialists, but also professionals in epidemiology, public health, microbiology, biostatistics and other global health-related disciplines.
