This effort is required to upgrade and increase the physical storage on our email servers and to prepare for the University’s implementation of Office 365.
What action do you need to take?
In preparation for the migration beginning June 8, please plan to either close out of your email program (Outlook, OWA, Apple Mail etc.) or turn off your computer the evening of Wednesday, June 8 before 8pm. We recommend that you do not turn your computer back on until arriving at the office Thursday morning. The email migration will occur from 8pm – 7am.
What to Expect after the Migration
- It may take up to 5 minutes for your Outlook client to load. Please be patient and do not attempt to restart.
- The Windows Outlook client will configure automatically. Restart the client if you are prompted. If an auto-discover check box comes up, check the check box and allow.
- OWA (Outlook Web Access) will work immediately after your migration is complete. If you have any issues accessing your email or calendar the morning after the migration, please remember your webmail will work.
