The process for APT within the School of Medicine regarding the criteria used for promotion to associate professor and professor in the tenure and fixed-term tracks will be reviewed.

Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance: 2016 Grants Program
The Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance is accepting letters of intent for two grant programs: 2016 Postdoctoral Fellowships and 2016 Research Grants. Award amount is up to $75,000 per year for up to two years. Submission deadline is June 20.
DNA Methylation Analysis Seminar
The UNC Mammalian Genotyping Core and Illumina will host a free lunchtime seminar to discuss the latest in genomic methylation analysis, specifically the new methylation array technology with a short review of the latest WGA genotyping platforms from Illumina as well as next-generation sequencing techniques for methylation analysis.
Foundation for Physical Therapy: Magistro Family Foundation Research Grant
The Foundation for Physical Therapy, with support from the Magistro Family Foundation, is accepting letters of intent for research projects that will evaluate the effectiveness of interventions most commonly delivered by physical therapists as determined by current practice standards and developing innovative physical therapist interventions and evaluating their effectiveness. Preferred consideration will be given to studies that examine not only the therapeutic effectiveness of interventions, but also their cost effectiveness. Award amount is up to $80,000 over one to two years. Deadline is June 1.
Kendal Charitable Funds: 2016 Promising Innovations Grant
The Kendal Charitable Fund is accepting letters of interest for projects that will support improvements in serving older adults that are reflective of a pioneering spirit in the field of aging. Priority will be given to projects that have significant potential for change and replication. Award amount is up to $25,000 for one year. Deadline is May 22.
The Donaghue Foundation: 2016 Greater Value Portfolio
The Donaghue Foundation is accepting letters of intent to create new approaches that will achieve a higher value health care system. Investigators conducting research that expect to develop actionable solutions to one or more of the symptoms of low value health care are encouraged to apply to the Greater Value Portfolio program. Award amount is up to $600,000 for three, four or five years. LOI deadline is May 17.
