Cene named RTI University Scholar

Crystal Wiley Cene, MD, MPH, assistant professor of medicine, was recently named an RTI University Scholar. As part of the program, Cene will collaborate with RTI researchers to study social network characteristics and health information among a racially diverse group of older women. She was one of six scholars selected this year for the program which is open to faculty from all 16 campuses of the University of North Carolina, as well as Duke University.

Ilene Speizer, PhD, a research professor in the Department of Maternal and Child Health at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, joins Cene as the other UNC-Chapel Hill representative in this year's class of scholars.
