Seeking Applications: Chair, Department of Family Medicine

The UNC School of Medicine seeks a qualified academic leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Family Medicine.

The department has excellent facilities and strong collaborative relationships with other departments, research centers, and programs within the University.  Additionally, the department has an important statewide role in part due to its eight Family Medicine residencies across the state and over 500 statewide faculty.  The Chair is responsible for the overall management, budget, personnel, resource allocation, academic planning, research program, and policy implementation for the department.  The Chair is to provide leadership and direction in the research, education, and professional missions of the department in conjunction with the UNC School of Medicine and UNC Hospitals/UNC Health Care.

Minimum qualifications include an M.D. or equivalent degree, a distinguished record of clinical excellence in Family Medicine, creative research productivity, administrative skills, contributions to diversity, and a demonstrated commitment to education.  Applicant must be eligible for a North Carolina medical license.
