UNC is home to some of the most talented, caring, and dedicated resident physicians in the country, and the UNC Gold Humanism Honor Society is excited to offer this opportunity to support and celebrate them. Multiple local restaurants (see list in attached flyer) will be featuring discounts for residents this week. Additionally, the Gold Humanism Honor Society has partnered with Franklin Street Yoga to offer a week of FREE yoga for all residents (3/26-3/30). The week of celebration includes an ice cream social, along with puppy therapy, a nutrition workshop, and a photobooth, on 3/28 from 1-3pm on the UNC Hospital Starbucks patio.

GHHS also encourages students to write letters to residents who have been particularly influential teachers. These letters will then be delivered to residents. If you would like to participate, please email your note (or questions) to Audrey (audrey_khoury@med.unc.edu) by midnight on Tuesday, March 27. Please clearly state the resident’s name and department in your note.

Throughout the week, we hope that students, faculty, and staff will reflect on the significant contribution that residents make to the lives of their patients, while training students and gaining new knowledge themselves. Our residents are shaping the future of medicine, and for that we sincerely thank them.

We thank the Medical Alumni office for their generous support.
