Accelerate your systematic review

UNC students and faculty now can utilize Covidence to accelerate their systematic reviews.

UNC researchers now can speed and streamline systematic reviews using Covidence, available from the UNC Health Sciences Library.

Covidence is a web-based software platform that significantly reduces the time and effort required to prepare systematic reviews. Key features include:

  • Importing data from bibliographic management software tools
  • Screening and selecting studies
  • Resolving disagreements
  • Extracting study data
  • Assessing study quality/risk of bias
  • Exporting data to multiple file types
  • Creating PRISMA diagrams

Instructors can use Covidence to demonstrate the systematic review research method and teach critical appraisal of studies.

The Health Sciences Library (HSL) has developed an online guide and also offers classes to help you learn about and use Covidence.

Covidence is licensed through a partnership between the HSL and the UNC schools of Medicine, Dentistry, and Global Public Health; the Sheps Center of Health Services Research; and the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute; and UNC Hospitals.

To learn more about Covidence or for help with any aspect of your research, please contact an HSL librarian.
