The Focused Ultrasound Foundation (FUS) is accepting one-page Research Abstracts to support investigator-initiated projects in the form of one-year awards. Clinical, preclinical and early-stage projects can be funded through one of the program’s two submission tracks:

  • Clinical Indication Track: geared towards preclinical and first-in-human clinical studies; funds research projects that target a specific clinical indication and could lead the way to new reimbursable clinical application for image-guided FUS within five to seven years.
  • High-Risk Track: intended for early-stage, high-risk, proof-of-concept research that, if successful, could have profound impact of FUS field

The Research Abstracts must be submitted two weeks prior to the full proposal deadline (February 1, 2018). Award funds may only be used to pay for costs that are directly allocable to the proposed research project. Award funds MAY NOT be used to cover institutional overhead or indirect costs. It is considered advantageous if institutional/departmental support and/or support from other sources—such as the NIH, foundations, or other philanthropic organizations—is available for the research project for which Focused Ultrasound Foundation funding is requested.

Abstract Deadline: No later than January 18, 2018 for February 1 review cycle. Invited full proposal due February 1, 2018. Application Guidelines: https://www.fusfoundation.org/for-researchers/external-research-awards-program
