Whitehall Foundation: Summer 2018 Research Grant Program

The Whitehall Foundation is accepting Letters of Interest (LOIs) from established scientists of all ages working at US institutions. The Foundation is interested in funding basic research in neurobiology as defined: Invertebrate and vertebrate (excluding clinical) neurobiology, specifically investigations of neural mechanisms involved in sensory, motor, and other complex functions of the whole organism as these relate to behavior. The overall goal should be to better understand behavioral output or brain mechanisms of behavior. Award amount up to $75,000 per year for up to three years. The LOI deadline is January 15, 2018.

Invertebrate and vertebrate (excluding clinical) neurobiology, specifically investigations of neural mechanisms involved in sensory, motor, and other complex functions of the whole organism as these relate to behavior. The overall goal should be to better understand behavioral output or brain mechanisms of behavior. Proposals are judged on scientific merit and the innovative aspects of the proposal. Research grants will not be awarded to investigators who have already received, or are expected to receive, substantial support from other sources, even if it is for an unrelated purpose. Funds may not be used for PI salary support; construction projects or lab renovations; secretarial or other office expenses; travel to conferences or meetings; or tuition and/or fellowships.
