Carolina Conversations series to focus on protected speech

The next edition of the ongoing Carolina Conversations series will be centered on first amendment protected speech.

The First Amendment has protected the right to free speech since the passage of the Bill of Rights. But in an age of hate speech, internet trolls, and cyberstalking, how do the courts and the University address this important topic?

The next edition of the Carolina Conversations series will focus on these issues. The session will be moderated by Professor G. Rumay Alexander, Director, Office of Inclusive Excellence, UNC School of Nursing, Special Assistant to the Chancellor, Interim Chief Diversity Officer. It will be facilitated by Mark W. Merritt, Vice Chancellor and General Counsel.

All faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend.
