Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation: Damon Runyon-Sohn Pediatric Fellowship Awards

The Foundation is accepting applications to fund basic scientists and clinicians who conduct research with the potential to significantly impact the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of one or more pediatric cancers. Candidates must apply for the fellowship under the guidance of a Sponsor – a scientist (tenured, tenure-track or equivalent position) capable of providing mentorship to the Fellow. Award amount is up to $52,000 per year. The application deadline is March 15, 2017.

The Foundation is accepting applications to fund basic scientists and clinicians who conduct research with the potential to significantly impact the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of one or more pediatric cancers. Candidates must apply for the fellowship under the guidance of a Sponsor – a scientist (tenured, tenure-track or equivalent position) capable of providing mentorship to the Fellow. Please note that for new awards starting January 1, 2017 or later, the Foundation will no longer offer Level 2 funding (all Fellows will receive the same stipend amount). Level 1 applicants are eligible if their degree was conferred between September 15, 2015 and March 15, 2017 and they must have joined their Sponsor’s lab on or after September 15, 2015. If an applicant has not yet received his/her PhD diploma but has successfully completed all PhD requirements, including PhD defense, he/she may submit a letter from the graduate school explicitly stating such, with the date of the successful PhD defense and date of degree conferral.
