Beach Cafe diners have likely notices lots of changes lately, from Chick-fil-a’s recently completed renovation to something new being built in Greens’ space.

While the Chick-fil-a renovation took longer than expected, it is now reopened.

In the Greens’ space, Carolina Dining Services is introducing a new concept, 1.5.0, UNC’s own unique brand focusing on fresh, local, sustainable and organic offerings. The opening of 1.5.0 follows extensive market research in the spring semester, driven by Beach Cafe customers.

1.5.0. will officially open on July 31 and menu offerings will include hearty grit bowls, house-made salads, and traditional barbeque, all focused on locally sourced ingredients. There will be vegetarian and vegan menu options as well.

Following the opening of 1.5.0, Carolina Dining asks patrons to submit feedback on the new concept, either to the manager on site or through yourdiningvoice.com.
