About TRUtalks:
TRUtalks is a local science outreach event that seeks to foster bridges of communication and trust between scientists and voting age adults within the local community, and make science more accessible to people. TRUtalks serves as a forum by which scientists can exchange ideas with the general public while dispelling myths, misunderstandings, or common misconceptions in popular scientific topics that receive substantial media coverage. Importantly, we hope to inspire an appreciation of scientific inquiry and convey the importance of tax payer-based research funding to everyone’s daily lives. It is our goal that everyone walks away from a TRUtalk having learned something new, is informed of the impact of his or her tax dollars, and gains an appreciation of the importance of basic scientific research.

TRUtalks is generously supported by the American Society for Cell Biology through a COMPASS Outreach Grant. Like and follow future TRUtalks events, as well as recordings of past events on our Facebook and Youtube page:
